Nominations are open for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Industry’ award at the Insurance Investor | European Awards. Do you know an individual who has shown exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication in the field of asset allocation, investment, treasury, capital, asset risk, or capital actuarial management in Europe over the past 12 or more months?

If so, we want to hear from you. Submit your nominations today – they’ll remain anonymous.

Following a competitive entry process, the European Awards winners will be honoured in front of 240 attendees on 25th September in London.

What are the judges looking for?

The award winner will have shown exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication in the field of asset allocation, investment, treasury, capital, asset risk, or capital actuarial management.

They will have demonstrated through a combination of factors such as professional accomplishments, contributions to the industry, and actions taken to evolve theirs or their organisations approaches.

This award is for one individual who has been based in Europe for all or most of the past 12-months.

Those nominating will be asked for one nomination of an individual they believe deserves the prize more than others.

Those nominated by a person within their own firm will receive a half vote, as we’re keen to encourage recognition across the industry

Once all nominations have been received, a representative of the organiser, Clear Path Analysis, will tally all nominations and if one person gets the most votes, then that person will be the winner. If not, we’ll ask our awards Judges to put the nominations in first, second, and third preference with a scoring of:

          ·        1 point for being on short list of three – person with most points wins

          ·        If still equal, first getting 5 points, second getting 3, and third getting 1 point, with the person with most votes winning, unless equal

          ·        Should there still be equal votes, then the Chief Executive Officer of Clear Path Analysis will choose the winner based on reasons given for their nomination

Previous winners include James Mitchell, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Research, Phoenix Group, who won the Outstanding Individual Contribution to the Insurance Asset Management Industry at the recent Insurance Investor | European Awards 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Insurance Investor afterwards, Mitchell discussed his dedication to bringing in new talent and fostering innovation in the UK market as a way of keeping the industry dynamic to new challenges.

Also awarded was Rich Sega, Managing Director, Global Chief Investment Strategist, Conning with the “Outstanding Individual Contribution to the Insurance Asset Management Industry” award at the Insurance Investor | North American Awards 2024 in December.

Sega spoke of how insurers have experienced the impact of demographic and societal changes over the past five decades. “They too are managing amid an ageing of the population, the emergence of flexible work arrangements, increased diversity of the employee base, the explosion of technology and the globalisation and digitisation of markets,” he said and advised to be vigilant to more change.

The 2025 recipient will have big shoes to fill.
