Swiss Re said in its SONAR report that an ageing workforce and skill set shortages could be a major risk to portfolios.
Climate change is emerging as one of the most significant risk factors, with wide-ranging effects on biodiversity, including flora and fauna.
However, life and health insurers that could see the biggest chunk taken from their portfolios and investment incomes as an ageing population, worker shortage, and chronic illnesses could lead to many more claims and pay-outs.
